It was about 5:00pm as we were passing east along I-10. We were making good time on our way to Quartzsite, AZ. There wasn’t a thought in the world worth fretting over while we cranked the music and blazed through yet another sunset-bathed landscape. Without warning, the front left tire gave out. The RV took an uncontrolled turn to the left, toppled in midair, and smashed into the ground, shooting debris all over the road! It was like “EEEEEEEE! BRAAAAAAAH! CRAAAAAASH!” Covered in gasoline, we pulled ourselves from the wreckage only to realize that the cats were still stuck inside. We dove back into the heap of fiberglass and twisted metal to rescue our two travel buddies. … OK… so we actually just felt the tire give out, put on our right blinker, and safely pulled off to the right hand side of the road so that we could call AAA (thanks for hooking us up with the membership Bob!). The first story was much more Hollywood, so if anyone asks, that’s what happened. Actually, if you retell it, retell it as though the cats were actually damsels in distress. Road Bandits = Heroes!

The Interactive Map Feature

Posted by Will on April 7, 2009 under NEWS | Be the First to Comment

There’s a new feature that has been added to the Road Bandit site!  We’re now offering an interactive map, courtesy of Google MyMaps.  Each time we receive a suggested destination that fits within the Road Bandit mission, we’ll add it to the map.  Plus, we’ll fetch any applicable images or videos off of the web and embed them directly into the map to enhance its functionality.  Given frequent usage, this collection of destinations will work out to be a great tool for all Road Bandit participants to enjoy. Take a look at our destinations page and let us know if you have any hotspots in mind that you think others would like to visit!
