Straight from my favorite movie The Shawshank Redemption but you know what…it’s really that simple. You’re either living your life or wasting it away. For me, this year has been a weird blend of both. I’ve had many opportunities to get busy living and instead I got stuck in my head and before I knew it, it’s November in Seattle Washington and I am waking up to freezing temperatures and snow all around me.
But I knew I had a choice, I could either let the fear take over and go into Randy hibernation for the Winter or I could focus on the future, change my thought process and get busy living!
“Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.”
I put my trust into only one mans hands…his name is Randy Primm. Sure he lets me down from time to time but I know in the end, all that I hope for and deserve, will be there for the taking…I just have to trust him and go out and get it!
Alright enough talk…it’s time for some action! I am going to get myself into the best shape of my life and there’s nobody that can stop me. Well except for that one guy we mentioned above but to quote the raven…NEVERMORE!
I have just started an amazing transformation of body and mind. Like the six-million dollar man we can rebuild him, we have the technology! This new Randy will be better than he was before, better, stronger, faster and possibly sexier? (I’ll let you ladies decided that last one)
First step is to start up a workout regiment and my choice was the very intense but very effective P90X Workout. This workout is 90 Days of pure mental toughness and physical challenges that “Double Dare” could only dream about. That’s right, I just went vintage Nickelodeon on all your asses!
I chose the P90X workout because I wanted a tough workout to punish my lazy ass for getting in the worst shape of my life and I knew that after 90 days I would be in the best shape of my life. Go ahead and take a look at some of the testimonials on YouTube…this workout is no joke people!
The second step is nutrition. I eat like an garbage disposal. Whatever is in front of me goes down the gullet and out the poop shoot. I was once that skinny kid who could eat anything and never gain a pound. But that was then and this is now. I’m about to be 27, I got an A cup going on up top and my stomach could pass for a pregnant woman who is 4 months along.
It’s time to treat my body right…it’s time for some sacrifices.
Lose the weight gain the confidence…gain the muscle, lose the self doubt.
The third step is to get my mind right. Make it a “MUST”. Whatever I desire. The world is my oyster and I’m no longer allergic to shellfish. I’m going to be focused and driven, while being confident and happy. That last one is important since I’ve got sexy dimples and they haven’t been getting much screen time lately :)
So those are the steps. Get fit, eat right and when your happy and you know it… you clap your hands.
Seems simple enough, and now I just have to do it…not tomorrow, not after breakfast, NOW!
OK, If you’re still here and you’ve read this far, maybe you’re willing to read a little further. You remember the name of the guy, don’t you? Well he’s got a little project called Road Bandit and its going to be running full steam come 2011. I could use a good man or woman to help me get my project launched fully. If you’ve got suggestions or want to be a part of this epic journey in any way let me know. I’ll keep an eye out for you and the RV ready. Remember, folks. Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.
I’ve had many chances to have Road Bandit take off and those ships have sailed but that doesn’t mean I can’t just swim to get there. Sure it’s going to be hard but nothing in this world that’s worth having comes easy and guess what? I must…I can…I will!
I’ll be hoping that this blog post finds you, and finds you well. Your friend, Randy.
Happy Holidays
P.S. Shawkshank Rocks!

I had to LOL at the Double Dare vintage Nickelodeon comment. I was thinking P90X was more like Wild and Crazy Kids. How’s that for vintage Nick? Good luck to you, man!
Great post, very witty! Fear paralyzes and you gotta play the Mind Over Body game to achieve your goals. 2010 is quite a year. Looking forward to another year of adventure and misadventures.

Hey Randy, I’m with you! Finding happiness with one’s self each day is the toughest task, yet the most rewarding. Have mega change in my life right now as well! Some days are better than others. When the hard stuff happens, I remember I’m still in a better place in my heart and soul than where I used to be. When the good stuff happens, I’m even more grateful!
Happy to support your adventure, where ever it leads you. Let me know anytime you need a shout out I can share with my network or just a digital smile ;~D

Randall.. if that is your real name – and even if it isn’t, nice post.
I loved every bit of it aside from one of the very last lines – and I quote, ”Sure it’s going to be hard but nothing in this world that’s worth having comes easy…”
I think you could probably guess my next comment, and if you can’t I’ll tell you what it would be.
Almost makes me want to start my own bloggy thing.. almost.

That was some cool stuff! Keep us updated with the P90X, I might want to try that program too!! Keep on rocking Randy!!
Thanks Mikko. The P90X workout has been amazing and each day I am feeling awesome and ready to take on the world! It’s only been 10 days though…so I should just keep focused because I got 80 more to go :)
