The Road Bandit Sponsorship Plan

I have landed some crazy good luck in the last couple of months and I now have myself a professional Road Bandit producer on board. Her name is Sarah Kneller and we are working together to layout a plan for landing Road Bandit some sponsors. Ok, so asking people for money is not my cup of tea. I hate feeling like a charity case and it seems like I’ve always had the wrong mentality towards accepting help. I don’t know why but I must shake off this lone bandit attitude and reach out to those around me and see who wants to get involved.

So it’s time to speak up and spread the word…the Road Bandit project is moving forward at a speed determined by how much effort I put into it and how much those around me support it.

So how bout it then? Do you or someone you know want to get involved and help sponsor the Road Bandit project? I’m on the stage now and the mic is on. Time to tell the world I’m here to stay and I will do whatever it takes to see this through. I’ve invested everything I’ve got and now it’s time to turn to you. Any help, big or small, will greatly be appreciated.

The State of Bandit

Ladies and Gentlemen…It’s on like Donkey Kong Wearing a Thong While Singing The Road Bandit Theme Song!

Road Bandit 3.0 is here!

I have spent the last couple of months up in the raining state of Washington putting together a plan and a team to get this Bandit out on the road for a long long time.

First off, I brought on a full time producer named Sarah Kneller who I have worked with up here in Seattle. Sarah is a producer with the work ethic that’s off the charts. Sarah doesn’t believe in the word “no” and see’s more potential in Road Bandit then anyone I have ever met. The second I heard Sarah was available to jump on board and help produce Road Bandit I immediately called her. Even though she won’t be traveling around with me, the value of having someone to help assist me on this epic journey is priceless. Already Sarah and I have accomplished more in the last two weeks then I have in the last two years for Road Bandit.

We have now copyrighted a full Road Bandit Treatment which describes in detail the concept of the Road Bandit project and how the website and interactive functionality will play out.

Also, we’ve formed Road Bandit Productions LLC and have laid out a plan of bringing on sponsorship and product promotion deals that will help support the Road Bandit project.

The next 100,000 miles

I’ve heard the saying that your life is made up by a handful of moments. Well I got pretty big hands so I think I can hold a ton of moments :) I think about that saying and it brings me back to April 10th 2008….the day I first headed out in my RV. This day is definitely one of those moments. As I leave Everett Washington I get the kind of excitement and nervousness I’ve only gotten one other time in my life. That other time came at 13,000 ft when I was just about to jump out of an airplane and experience skydiving for the first time. Both of these scenarios get described by many as foolish and crazy, while others would describe them as brave and inspiring.

Fast forward to June 22nd 2010 as I cruise the 101 north with the ocean to my left and grass fields to my right I watch the odometer slowly turn from 99,999 to 100,000. Of course, I should have pulled over and slowly crept to the 100,000 to ensure a perfect picture for everyone to enjoy. But just like the last 2 years of living in an RV I kept the pedal to the medal and grabbed what photo’s I could. These last 2 years have gone by in such a weird and fascinating way. See most people say “wow time flies” for me it was wow “time is insane”. Some moments lasted for ever, such as the cold ass winters in Vegas. While other moments like when I was traveling the country with Jason Moffatt went by like a lighting bolt in storm. Some may have caught a glimbse but for most it was an unseen and unheard event that hopefully won’t be the last.

It’s Mofatt Season!

I am Moffatt hunting as I type this. Thats right Jason Moffatt hunting! See Mr. Jason Mo-to-the Fatt is out traveling the country ala Bandit style and I am sitting here at an Oregon rest stop just hours away from where he was last seen. Now I don’t know how long Jason will be on the road or if and when I will be able to meet up and reunite the Bandit’s. But one thing is for sure, if I catch a Moffatt you will all here about it real soon:)

So whats next? What will the next 100,000 miles hold for this Bandit? Will Bird finally learn to talk?

All these questions and more will be answered as you follow along. I can tell you this though. I have met some amazing people, who have supported and cared about me since I first hit the road. I am not a religious guy by any means but I feel somewhat blessed. If you are one of those amazing people who have commented, emailed, called or even just smiled at me since my journey first started…Thank You from the bottom of my heart. If we ever get a chance to meet I will give you one great tall man hug and if thats not enough how bout a slap on the ass :)

So here is to you and those like you, for without you there would be no me and without me this post would not exist and instead you would be reading some crappy blog about Internet Marketing or Lady Gaga or a recipe for Black Bean Casserole.

Walk For The Cure

While on the road I try and pick up shooting gigs in each city I am in and last week in Vegas I had the pleasure of covering a group of friends and family on their first “walk for a cure” experience. I’ve never participated in a walk myself and didn’t know what to expect,let alone how I was going to shoot one. This video gives you the full experience of what its like participating in a walk for a cause and this cause was for breast cancer. I follow along Sean and his wife Emily and their family and friends who have all come together to represent Team Mary. Mary was Emily’s mother who lost her life due to breast cancer a year ago.

The Snooze Button On Life

We are all guilty of it from time to time and in my case it would be most of the time. I have mentally slept through some awesome early moments in my life that if I just got myself motivated enough to get going sooner, things would be well… shoulda woulda coulda right?

Its seem like every morning I wake up I have to battle with myself to get up. Now once I get up it usually takes me about 5-10 minutes to truly be awake. This early morning battle comes down to one thing and one thing only. What is better for Randy right now…more sleep or more life. Back in the day I had Ma and Pa to come barging into my room and yell at me that the bus is outside and if I miss it I’m walking to school. Those days are gone and I am responsible for getting up and once I am up I gotta get going. I have said this many times and I truly mean it when I say it “Self-Motivation is an art” I know I am not alone on this and would love to hear some feedback on how you win the battle with the Snooze Button On Life. In order to get up right away do you just get up and do an early morning dance? Do you stare at the ceiling until it bores you enough to get up? Do you wake and then bake…cookies? Oh yeah by the way Happy 420! So lets hear some and who knows maybe one of your tactics could get this Bandit to throw away that damn snooze button mentality.

Alby Mangels- A True Road Bandit

I have been in a weird state of mind lately and I’ve been searching for some motivation and inspiration to get me back on track. Last night I received both in the form of an e-mail from Jason Moffatt. The subject line was a very intriguing one. It read “You Gotta“, I of coursed opened it right away and read the following: “YouTube “Alby Mangels”…..“Dude was my hero about 15 years ago. We’d pretend to be Alby Mangels all the time.” After reading this I checked out the above video and after watching I realized that embracing your journey can really create magical moments. Road Bandits Mardi Gras 2010

We arrived last night in New Orleans and luckily we got hooked up by Jason Moffatt’s buddy Chad Mac who got us into the coolest RV park near Bourbon Street. Now we aren’t just near everything, we are smack dab right in the middle of the biggest party of the year. Even though night hasn’t fallen yet in New Orleans… the party has already begun. We have been shooting tons of video with the help of Couch Surfing Ori who jumped on board with us and our goal tonight is to snag a great balcony spot and party likes its 2999!

Road Life has taught me more about life than the previous 24 years of my life did combined. But one lesson that I’ve learned that has cost me dearly so far is planning. Getting rid of all the responsibilities I had in the past and then jumping in an RV on the road has given me the freedom to do whatever I want. But with that freedom comes an even bigger responsibility of staying focused and determined on always moving forward. In society today we have a system in place where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Yes of course there are exceptions, but the main rule of thumb here is that for the most part, those who play the game keep winning and those who don’t play the game…well the game plays them.

Jason Moffatt Jumps On Board With Road Bandit

Ladies and Gentlemen Its official! Jason Moffatt will become a Road Bandit and hit the road with roadbandit.com starting mid January of 2010. So who is Jason Moffatt? How did I meet him and whats he gonna bring to table as the newest Road Bandit? “Without help from anyone I honestly would not be where I am today. Road life is rough and at times you will start to feel the lonely bug kicking in and things just feel less important when your sitting all alone in your RV”.

First off, I gotta thank the behind-the-scenes Road Bandit crew. Theses two madmen have supported me since the start, and both have offered their talents in Photography and Video to bring you those impressive shots that I of course would never be able to do. Casey Fessler is a Photographer out of Las Vegas and about 90 % of the photos seen on roadbandit.com have come from him. You can check out all his work at www.propermonkey.com and if you like what ya see order up a couple of prints and he can get them to you ASAP. Scottie Minshall is also a Photographer/Videographer out of Las Vegas who is currently enrolled at UNLV partying it up. Scottie can be seen nightly at the Planet Hollywood shooting the Steve Wyrick Magic Show. Both of these guys have helped me out greatly so far on my journey, but they aren’t the only ones I need to be thanking.

You can’t fail at something unless you quit at it…right?

Well I don’t know how to quit and the only way failure will happen to me would have to be by death. I am a persistent person and even though I might not get it right the first time or even the second or third time…I eventually will.
