Take A Motivation Vacation

There is only twenty-four hours in the day and for most that time is spent sleeping, driving and working. But what if you could take some of that time back and make it yours. No, I am not talking about Inception (even though that movie rocked and you all need to see it). I’m talking about giving yourself time to reflect on your life and also time to create and get motivated towards new possibilities.

When I first decided I was going to purchase an RV and hit the road I devoted some time to imagine what it would like.  I spent countless nights staring up at the ceiling of my crappy apartment with a huge smile on my face, while I envisioned myself cruising around the world experiencing life like never before.

Now, out on the road instead of the ceiling, I am staring up at blue sunny skies, drafting up ideas for Road Bandit projects and reflecting on the life I have lived so far and the life that I’m starting to live out on the open road.

I setup my mp3 player with some awesome tunes and just sit on my roof and let everything slow down a bit.  I let my mind just run and see where It wants to go.  Sometimes the perfect tune comes on at the perfect time and I feel like my life is a movie and this is the part where the awesome montage starts up.

I get chills sometimes when I realize how lucky I am to have these amazing moments of reflection out on the road. I feel very energized and powerful after each moment and I recommend to everyone out there to take time out of your daily routine and reflect and be thankful for what you got.

Are you ready for some football?

It’s getting to be that time of year where getting drunk before noon on a Sunday is understandable.

That’s right, the NFL season is under way. Well, at least the presean has started and I since I am still up in Washington I decided to get down to Seattle and work me some football.

Sure it’s only preseason but its football and it’s way better than watching the Mariners lose another 100 games this year.

I will be posting photos from the field on my Facebook throughout the day.

Good luck to your team this year and lets go SEAHAWKS!

Freaky Fun Fact Friday

Today is Friday and I thought I would share with you an interesting freaky fun fact about me.

Did you know I once predicted an earthquake three hours before it happened? It’s true, just ask my buddy Kyle Bustanoby. It happened way back “In the year 2000.” (Man I miss Conan)

Kyle and I were sitting in our 1st period class of creative writing wasting time trying trying to guess what number the other person was thinking of. I started guessing the number Kyle was thinking every time. I think I must have guessed three times in a row and suddenly Kyle thought I had magical powers and to be honest I thought I did to.

So with a straight face, I then told Kyle there was going to be an Earthquake today.Kyle started laughing and went back to his school work. But I was sure of it and demanded he write down my bold prediction…but he didn’t.

Three hours later while I sat in the High School cafeteria eating lunch, the lights flickered and the ground started shaking and it began …A magnitude-6.8 earthquake rattles the Puget Sound area, causing more than $1 billion in damage.

What are the odds? Freaky or Fake? Well Mr. Ripley, guess what… it’s 100% true!

Hey Kyle, there’s going to be another earthquake on Sept 17th 2010…write it down!

The Power Of A Helping Hand

I’ll admit it, I struggle with asking for help and even accepting help when its being offered. Call it pride or call it ignorance, either way help is very powerful and nobody should turn down or be afraid to ask for.

But to depend or rely on help will send you towards a path of dependence and failure.  However, to accept and embrace help will allow you to grow and eventually help others including those who first helped you. I have had a very up and down last couple of years and I know there would be a ton of more downs if I didn’t let others around me lend a hand.

Being out on the road I have seen the kindness in people that I always thought wasn’t there unless they wanted something for it. Most of these people understand how powerful their helpful hand can be and just want to help.

A helpful hand can pick someone up from the ground or stop them from falling. A helpful hand can pat you on the back and let you know that you have done well. A helpful hand isn’t always friendly and sometimes it has to slap some sense in you to really be helpful.  A helpful hand can point you in the right direction and then salute you when you go for it and accomplish your goals.

To all those helpful hands I have come across so far on my journey…Thank You So Much and I am so glad I let you lend me a hand.
