Seattle Seahawks Football

Are you ready for some football?

It’s getting to be that time of year where getting drunk before noon on a Sunday is understandable.

That’s right, the NFL season is under way. Well, at least the presean has started and I since I am still up in Washington I decided to get down to Seattle and work me some football.

Sure it’s only preseason but its football and it’s way better than watching the Mariners lose another 100 games this year.

I will be posting photos from the field on my Facebook throughout the day.

Good luck to your team this year and lets go SEAHAWKS!

Freaky Fun Fact Friday

Today is Friday and I thought I would share with you an interesting freaky fun fact about me.

Did you know I once predicted an earthquake three hours before it happened? It’s true, just ask my buddy Kyle Bustanoby. It happened way back “In the year 2000.” (Man I miss Conan)

Kyle and I were sitting in our 1st period class of creative writing wasting time trying trying to guess what number the other person was thinking of. I started guessing the number Kyle was thinking every time. I think I must have guessed three times in a row and suddenly Kyle thought I had magical powers and to be honest I thought I did to.

So with a straight face, I then told Kyle there was going to be an Earthquake today.Kyle started laughing and went back to his school work. But I was sure of it and demanded he write down my bold prediction…but he didn’t.

Three hours later while I sat in the High School cafeteria eating lunch, the lights flickered and the ground started shaking and it began …A magnitude-6.8 earthquake rattles the Puget Sound area, causing more than $1 billion in damage.

What are the odds? Freaky or Fake? Well Mr. Ripley, guess what… it’s 100% true!

Hey Kyle, there’s going to be another earthquake on Sept 17th 2010…write it down!

The Power Of A Helping Hand

I’ll admit it, I struggle with asking for help and even accepting help when its being offered. Call it pride or call it ignorance, either way help is very powerful and nobody should turn down or be afraid to ask for.

But to depend or rely on help will send you towards a path of dependence and failure.  However, to accept and embrace help will allow you to grow and eventually help others including those who first helped you. I have had a very up and down last couple of years and I know there would be a ton of more downs if I didn’t let others around me lend a hand.

Being out on the road I have seen the kindness in people that I always thought wasn’t there unless they wanted something for it. Most of these people understand how powerful their helpful hand can be and just want to help.

A helpful hand can pick someone up from the ground or stop them from falling. A helpful hand can pat you on the back and let you know that you have done well. A helpful hand isn’t always friendly and sometimes it has to slap some sense in you to really be helpful.  A helpful hand can point you in the right direction and then salute you when you go for it and accomplish your goals.

To all those helpful hands I have come across so far on my journey…Thank You So Much and I am so glad I let you lend me a hand.

“Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.” -Thomas Jefferson

Why All Dogs Go To Heaven

You’ve heard the saying and probably saw the movie but here is video proof that all dogs will surely go to heaven. The second after I saw this video I knew I had to share it with all the Road Bandit fans.  I hope this video remind us all, that even though we might be the dominant species in the planet, sometimes we can be outdone by mans best friend.

It’s Time To Impress Yourself

I try to go through life with little to no expectations, hope for the best and then give it my all. Take chances, learn from my mistakes and tell that little voice in my head that says I can’t, to sit back and enjoy the show.

However, recently my initial thoughts have been that odds are I might fail. But odds are just numbers that hold no meaning in Randy Land. In the end, when the dust has settled and I’ve achieved my goal that at first seemed risky, I just sit back and realize “damn dude I am impressed.”

Self doubt is a disease that can only be cured by changing your thinking or proving yourself wrong.  Sometimes you can push away self doubt with a quick mental moment where you realize that if you said out loud the thoughts that were in your head you would sound like a dumbass.

But the most effective and exciting cure for proving yourself and others wrong is by going out there and just doing it. The Nike company might have an overpriced clothing line but their slogan is worth its weight in gold! “JUST DO IT”

A slow and steady pace forward might get you to your destination but what’s to say you don’t get lost or run out of fuel before you get there?

It’s like the moment before you get into a pool or lake or the ocean. You can either walk slowly in and let the water numb your body till it seems warm or you can run, jump and scream your way towards an exciting splash.

Sure, at first it’s intense but five to ten seconds later your swimming around telling others they need to jump in cause the water’s perfect and they’re all missing out.

Jason Moffatt Owes Me A Six Pack

Halfway through August and I am already cashing in on tons of productivity, early mornings and now I’ve won a a whole six pack by the one and only Jason Moffatt.

Question is, will Jason be sending me six pack of beer to tempt me or a six pack of that non-alcoholic beer O’Douls or maybe he will send me a copy of 8 Minute Abs and have me work my ass off for that six pack.

Either way, I am cruising through August and I want to thank not just Jason but everyone who has cheered me on so far.
