Intro- Welcome to the world of Road Bandit.  He’s on the road day and night hitting up different spots in the U.S. Road Bandit has been a long time coming, and ladies and gentlemen.  It’s here.  Get ready to be Educated, Entertained, Interacted with and Inspired like no web series has before.  Hold on tight, it’s gonna be a crazy first season.

What is RB-  Road Bandit is an interactive RV travel web series that features unique people and places around the country.  He’s a simple man with a simple plan, live life and love life.  And he wants to take you along for the ride.

Nelson Ghost Mines- Just south of Boulder City, going east as you leave Las Vegas you will find the hauntings of the Nelson Ghost Mines.  Nelson, back in 1775, wasn’t Nelson at all.  It was called Eldorado by the Spaniards who originally discovered gold in the area that is now known as Eldorado Canyon.  Disagreements over ownership, management and labor disputes led to some sticky situations that resulted in wanton killings so frequent…they were down right ordinary, and just part of the daily routine.

Mail Time- This week’s letter is from Dave in Seattle, WA.  Dave wants to know how the heck a big dude like Randy Primm lives in a class C RV and doesn’t suffer from daily concussions…

Express Lane- Move trick, get out the way! Road Bandit is in the Express Lane…this week’s gnarly feature: Best Picture Academy Award Nominee, 127 hours.  Yeah, so they lost…here’s why Road Bandit thinks they should of won. http://www.127hoursmovie.com

Indiegogo- Since people aren’t standing on the street this afternoon giving away free HD Cameras and Laptops…Road Bandit has partnered with the world leader in Crowd Funding:  Indiegogo.com.  Check it out, even if you can’t donate, hit the feature option, it’s a nice way to say “atta boy, I like your style.”http://www.indiegogo.com/roadbandit

RPS- Rock Paper Scissors…yes, with my cat named Bird.  And she wins, GOULE…you win…you always do!

The new Road Bandit interactive web show is about to make its debut!

Tomorrow is the day I have been waiting for my whole life. The Road Bandit Project was formed in March of 2009 but tomorrow will be its real coming out party.

The show will be between 10-12 minutes long and will be every Wednesday. It will be uploaded to every major video sharing site but RoadBandit.com will be the best place to check it out.

So stay tuned for the very first episode of what some are calling the most anticipated show nobody has ever heard of :)

Indiegogo Crowd Funding Campaign

Indiegogo.com is the world’s leading international funding platform, helping people create campaigns and fund ideas since 2008.There are over 18,000 campaigns on IndieGoGo and now The Road Bandit Project is one of them.

So what is crowd funding and why did I choose Indiegogo.com for my campaign?

Crowd funding (sometimes called crowd financing or crowd sourced capital) describes the collective cooperation, attention and trust by people who network and pool their money and other resources together, usually via the Internet, to support efforts initiated by other people or organizations. Crowd funding occurs for any variety of purposes, from disaster relief to citizen journalism to artists seeking support from fans, to political campaigns, to funding a start up company or small business or creating free software.

IndieGoGo was my choice over other similar crowd funding sites out there like Kickstarter.com because if you don’t meet your funding goal, you still keep the money you raise with your campaign. IndieGoGo charges a 9% fee on campaigns with unmet funding goals and only 4% on campaigns that meet their funding goals. Kickstarter.com however, doesn’t give you anything if you don’t meet your goal.

So lets talk about What’s In It For You! With each crowd funding campaign there are incentives that come with each level of donation.

These are the incentives for the Road Bandit crowd funding campaign.

For a minimum of $10 you get to be listed on the Road Bandit website as a supporter and forever will be known as nice person in the eyes of myself and all those who come to RoadBandit.com

Like Rob Schneider in the movie The Water Boy you wanna scream You Can Do It! You see great things happening for the Road Bandit Project and you’re not shy about letting it be know. For your support, you’ll receive an awesome one of a kind Road Bandit t-shirt.

You have the power to make things happen and you’re not afraid to show it. With this donation you’ll receive a copy of the first season of Road Bandit on DVD. This DVD will be loaded with extra footage and unique never uploaded videos.

Ok so now we are moving up to the big donations where your donations not only make me do my “happy dance” but also will get your name and/or organization a shout out on RoadBandit.com

Welcome to the show! With this donation you will be forever immortalized as a participant in the one and only Road Bandit show. Get ready to get involved because I plan on showing the world how awesome you are during one of our weekly webisodes.

Lights… Action… Bandito! Welcome to the club and because you’ve donated towards my project its only fair I donate my time and skills towards yours. Lets work together and produce an exclusive Road Bandit commercial that you’ll have exclusive rights to and if your video has the right message we will even feature it on a weekly webisode.

Since the beginning of the project Road Bandit has relied entirely on the funding from freelance production work. We have invested every dollar we have to build the successes we’ve shared so far, and now Road Bandit is ready to go to the next level. With the next level comes sustainable production costs. In addition to this effort on IndieGoGo, we are seeking funding from foundations and individuals. We are appealing to you for a donation in any amount to help us keep Road Bandit road bound and help see the project through it’s first official full season, set to commence on March 1, 2011.

SPREAD THE WORD!!! If you ain’t got the funds to donate but would love to still help out, tell your friends, family and all those internet friends we chat with daily on Twitter and Facebook. Also If you would like to become an Official Promoter of Road Bandit please contact me at Contact@roadbandit.com

The Boy Who Cried Sponsorship!

March will be 3 years of living and traveling in an RV.

To me its been 3 seasons of a hardcore sport called Road Life. Sadly these seasons have all ended with winless record when it comes to landing that first sponsorship deal.

There have been so many moments in the last couple of years where I believed 100% that I was about to land that first and most important sponsor for RoadBandit.com. Each time it starts with a great phone call or an email or a conversation over dinner and then ends with weeks of me waiting to hear back and then it was gone.

But was it actually even there to begin with?

There have been countless phone calls to my friends telling them I’ve finally done it!  I got sponsorship! I did it… I finally did it! Only to feel like a liar weeks later when nothing happens.

“Nobody believes a liar…even when he is telling the truth!”

So close, yet so far away.

The fact is I am doing everything backwards. I am waiting to get sponsors when I should be moving forward and let the sponsors come to me when they see how badass and unique Road Bandit is.

I have been silent lately, waiting patiently to spread the news of a new sponsorship deal. My producer Sarah tells me to keep my head up and that nothing that is worth anything comes easy.

So maybe it might be another 3 years before I land my first sponsor but I can guarantee you this… I’m not waiting anymore and when it happens, it happens.

I am the perfect role model on what NOT to do when starting an interactive travel website. But ya know what?  I’m still here, still passionate about the Road Bandit project and even though its been a struggle to get that first big win, I’m about to start another season and give the people what they want…. Road Bandit by the barrel!
